MoE: South schools closed due to inclement weather to reopen on Monday
The Ministry of Education is seeking to advise members of the public that three primary schools were closed on Friday because of inclement weather which resulted in flooding on the schools’ compounds.
The affected institutions include the North Oropouche Government Primary, North Oropouche R.C Primary and Debe Hindu SDMS Primary Schools.
Clean-up operations have commenced in these schools with assistance from the Regional Corporations, teachers and parents, to prepare them for reopening on Monday.
There were also early dismissals for several other primary and secondary schools and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Centres because students and teachers were not able to access the school compound due to flooding in the communities.
Meanwhile, the Penal Quinam Government Primary School located in the South Eastern Education District has been opened as an emergency shelter.
