MoH set on fire, suspect calls COVID-19 a conspiracy

A fire was reported at a section of the Ministry of Health building Saturday morning.

Fire officials told Loop News the blaze was a suspected case of arson.

Around 1.36, fire officers of the Wrightson Road Fire Station responded to a report of smoke coming from the basement of the Ministry of Health building located at the corner of Park and Edward Street.

The area was cordoned off and the blaze was contained.

Fire officials estimated the smoke and water damage to the basement at $2 million.

The words, "COVID-19 is all about the New World Order. Stop it now. #THERESISTANCE", were spray-painted on an outside wall of the building.

Police are searching for a suspect who was seen leaving the scene.

Investigations are continuing.
