Mom of two perishes in Princes Town blaze
Tragedy struck in the wee hours of Tuesday morning when a fire claimed the life of a 31-year-old mother of two, just two days after mother's day. Her husband, PC Shane Ramdath, managed to escape saving their two daughters.
It was around 12:10 am, the family was asleep at their Immortel Drive, Buen Intento, Princes Town home.
Loop TT was told that Ramdath was awakened by smoke which he saw coming from the living room and kitchen of the home.
The man yelled out to his family members, waking up his two daughters, 4-year-old Shanice and 11-year-old Shania.
He pushed his girls to safety through a window and attempted to save his wife, Anita Ramdath.
But, he was too late.
His wife perished in the blaze.
The woman was employed at the Princes Town Magistrates Court.
