More than $33K stolen from briefcase left in truck

Police are once again asking members of the public not to make themselves easy targets for criminal elements.

This latest reminder comes after a 31-year-old man was robbed of over $33,000 in cash.

The victim, who is from Don Miguel Road, San Juan, told police that around 2:45 pm on Thursday, he parked his black Nissan Navara near Detour Tech in Price Plaza Chaguanas and left the vehicle.

He reportedly left a briefcase in his car which contained TT$33,600, US$1,000, and GYD$6,000.

Upon returning to the vehicle around 3:30 pm he observed that the front passenger side window had been broken into and the briefcase was missing.

An alarm was raised and the police were notified.

Investigations are ongoing.
