Moruga man found partially buried near home
Two days after gunshots were heard, the body of a 34-year-old Moruga man was found.
The deceased has been identified as Marvis Atiba Joseph, of La Lune Road, Moruga.
Police were told that around 11.45 pm on Monday, relatives told police they heard gunshots, and upon investigating, they found Joseph’s home had been ransacked.
There also appeared to be gunshot damages.
The police were notified, and a team of officers led by Insp Prescott, and Sgt Toussaint, responded.
Searches were conducted, but nothing was found.
At about 11.20am on Wednesday, police received intelligence that Joseph’s body had been found in a forested area near his home.
It appeared to have been partially buried in the dirt, and there was ‘extensive wounds’ to the head of the victim.
Police found and seized six 5.56mm shells on the scene.
An autopsy is carded to take place today at the Forensic Science Center in St James.
