Mother and daughter in custody for Tobago murder
A mother and daughter are currently in police custody following the murder of 25-year-old Ankel Thomas.
An autopsy performed this week revealed that Thomas died as a result to a stab wound to his back.
The injury caused massive hemorrhaging, and resulted in the collapse of his lungs.
Thomas was fatally stabbed on August 21 in an incident in Lambeau, Tobago.
He succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the Scarborough General Hospital.
This week, a mother and daughter, who were both known to Thomas, were arrested by homicide officials.
They have been in custody since and are aiding with inquiries.
With the autopsy results in hand, investigators, LoopTT was told, are expected to approach officials from the office of the director of public prosecutions for instructions on how best to proceed.
