The mother of Toco/Sangre Grande MP Glenda Jennings-Smith has been hospitalised after falling ill.

The MP, who was scheduled to be a part of the People’s National Movement’s (PNM) Sports and Family Day in La Horquetta on Sunday instead spent the morning with her mother at hospital.

“Life has so much disappointments and is so unpredictable. This morning, after days of preparation, I should have been with my team from Toco Sangre Grande but unfortunately my mummy became very ill last night. This morning I had to be with mummy at the Arima hospital,” she wrote in a Facebook post.

While she did not disclose the reason for her mother’s hospitalisation, Jennings-Smith commended the team at the Arima District Hospital for their efforts and for the care they provided her mother.

“I must say thank you to the Minister of Health and the hard-working doctors and nurses at the Arima emergency Centre. Very good work ethics displayed by all persons on duty,” the MP continued.

The MP said her mother is doing well but remains hospitalised at this time.

“My mom has shown improvement and I pray with the grace of God, soon she’d be ok,” she said.
