Motorcycle passenger killed in D'Abadie accident
A woman was killed after an early morning collision in D'Abadie on Monday morning.
Up to 8.00 am Monday, police said the deceased had not been positively identified.
Police who responded were told the woman was only known as “Asha” from Pinto Road, Arima.
She was also known as “Milky Boss”, police were told.
The incident took place around 2.00 am Monday along the Eastern Main Road, D’Abadie.
The deceased was said to be a passenger on a Yamaha 600 motorcycle which was being piloted by a 30-year-old man from Sangre Grande.
Police were told the 30-year-old was heading in an easterly direction when it attempted to overtake a vehicle which was in front of him.
However, during this attempt, he came into contact with another car which was proceeding in the opposite direction.
Both the driver and the passenger of the motorbike were thrown from the vehicle.
They both sustained significant injuries upon impact with the ground, police said.
“Asha” died at the scene.
The 30-year-old was rushed to the nearby health facility where he was treated and is said to be in a serious condition.
