Motorcyclist still hospitalised after accident on Lady Young Road

A motorcyclist is warded in a serious condition at the Port of Spain General Hospital following an accident along the Lady Young Road on Saturday night.

He suffered injuries so severe that his right leg may have to be amputated.

The incident reportedly took place near Coconut Drive, Morvant.

The driver of a car attempted to overtake other vehicles heading west when he came into contact with the motorcyclist who was proceeding in the opposite this direction. The driver has since been detained and is being questioned by Morvant police.

The aftermath of the collision was recorded on a cellular phone and uploaded onto social media sites.

The incident came less than two days after another motorcyclist, Rondell Jagessar was killed, in an accident in La Romaine.

The current toll for road deaths in 2018 stands at 112 up to this morning.
