Update: Traffic disruption on Uriah Butler Highway

Update November 5, 2019, 2.51 pm:

Drivers are advised to watch out for several road work projects being done over the next few days.

The Ministry of Works and Transport said in a statement issued Thursday that road works will be done from Saturday December 7 and Sunday December 8, 2019, between 7.00 am and 7.00 pm at the following locations:

- B 1/5 Uriah Butler Highway, 4.97km Mark, (bridge right before the Caroni Flyover, southbound or bridge right after the Caroni Flyover, northbound)

- B 1/6 Uriah Butler Highway, 5.88km Mark; (first bridge after the Caroni Flyover, southbound or bridge right before the Caroni Flyover, northbound)

- B 1/7 Uriah Butler Highway, 6.40km Mark; (second bridge after the Caroni Flyover, southbound)

- B 1/9 Uriah Butler Highway, (southbound), 8.19km Mark; the bridge in the vicinity of the recently closed American Stores

The Ministry said a minimum of two lanes of traffic will remain open to motorists in both the northbound and southbound direction along the UBH at all times.

Motorists are therefore advised to comply with the following:

- Proceed with caution and observe all directional signs

- Comply with instructions from Police Officers on-site to facilitate the flow of traffic in an orderly manner.

Update: The Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) has advised that roadworks previously scheduled to take place this weekend, have been postponed to next weekend.

The Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) is advising that there will be a temporary traffic disruption over the weekend.

A statement notes that this will occur on Saturday, November 30, 2019, and Sunday, December 01, 2019, between the hours of  7 am to 7 pm along the northbound and southbound lanes of the Uriah Butler Highway.  

The following locations will be most affected:

- B 1/5 Uriah Butler Highway, 4.97km Mark, (bridge right before the Caroni Flyover, southbound or bridge right after the Caroni Flyover, northbound)
