Narrow escape for motorcyclist after Couva accident

A 30-year-old man is lucky to be alive after a head-on collision in Couva on Thursday afternoon.

The driver, identified as Fazad Ali of Beaucarro Road, Freeport, thankfully only suffered broken legs as a result of the incident.

According to reports, Ali was on a motorcycle which was proceeding along the McBean Road, Couva, when it collided with a green Suzuki SUV.

Ali was thrown from his motorcycle and landed a short distance away.

The police and emergency health services were notified and the wounded man was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital.

The driver of the Suzuki also suffered minor injuries and sought treatment.

Up to Friday morning, Ali was said to be in a stable condition.

Police once again were critical of persons who were sharing images and information on social media that stated Ali had died from his injuries.

The public was once again asked to trust only verified information which originated from either the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) or from established and reputable media organisations.

More on this as it becomes available.
