Nat Sec Ministry officials meet with lifeguards again

Officials at the Ministry of National Security met on Tuesday with representatives of the Lifeguard Services Division and the National Union of Government and Federated Workers (NUGFW) to continue discussing the issues currently affecting lifeguards assigned to the Maracas Beach facility.

According to a release, the meeting took place at the Ministry of National Security Head Office, Port of Spain.

The Ministry’s Executive informed the parties of ongoing repairs and remedial work at the Maracas Beach facility which aim to resolve the reported issues in the coming days.

The Ministry also gave the assurance that a request was made for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) to provide additional security patrols at the Las Cuevas Beach.

The statement said the Ministry is working to resolve all issues and reiterates that the health and safety of its staff and the preservation of life is of highest priority.
