Newly-appointed Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Communications, Symon de Nobriga made his first visit to state-owned television station TTT Limited on Wednesday.

The Minister said that the government believes TTT can play a critical role in telling Trinidad and Tobago’s stories.

“I think that our ability to tell the story of the nation from a national perspective is extremely important. We must find a way to tell our story to a younger audience. We need to instill a sense of national pride, and I see TTT taking the lead in this regard,” Minister de Nobriga said.

Minister de Nobriga met with the Chairman of the Board Ronda Francis and Chief Executive Officer, David Roberts before touring the organisation and said he would provide the support TTT needs to advance its ‘Live for Local’ agenda.

The Minister said, “It is really about how I can facilitate TTT to be the best version of itself. I look forward to my relationship with the Chairman and CEO bearing fruit.”
