New traffic schemes in Woodbrook, St James, Belmont

Drivers are advised of experimental traffic schemes in parts of Woodbrook, Belmont and St James, starting from Monday April 29, and ending on July 28, 2019.

According to Legal Notices 85 and 86, titled 'Traffic Control (Experimental Scheme) (St James and Port of Spain) Regulations 2019', drivers are advised as follows:

No parking on De Verteuil Street 

Drivers shall not park on De Verteuil Street, between Warren Street and Ariapita Avenue on the 

a) Eastern side on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and

b) Western side on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

No right turn onto Belle Smythe Street

Drivers shall not turn right from Belle Smythe Street onto Warren Street, Woodbrook, between the hours of 6:00 am to 6:00 pm except on public holidays. 


Traffic changes in St James

One-way traffic on Finland Street

- Drivers can travel in an easterly direction only on Finland Street between Ethel Street and Vidale Street.

No entry 

- Drivers cannot enter Finland Street from Vidale Street


Traffic changes in Belmont

According to the 'Traffic Control (Experimental Scheme) (Belmont) Regulations, 2019, drivers are advised as follows: 

- A person driving a motor vehicle shall proceed in a 

a) Westerly direction on Meyler Street, between Belmont Circular Road East and Pelham Street;

b) Southerly direction on Pelham Street, between Belmont Circular Road North and Clifford Street, and 

c) Westerly direction on St Margaret's Lane between Belmont Circular Road East and Pelham Street.

Anyone contravening these Regulations is liable on summary conviction for a first offence, to a fine of $570, and on any subsequent conviction, to a fine of $1,000.
