NGC gives back to Life Center
The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago has partnered with the Learning Is for Everyone (LIFE) Centre to update the school ground for the new school year.
As part of its volunteerism programme, NGC employees came out to assist non-profit organisation, LIFE Centre, in preparing their facilities for the new school term. NGC assisted with rubble removal and landscaping, to create a more suitable and welcoming yard space for students. The Company also donated all gardening equipment and tools used in the exercise to the institution so that LIFE Centre could continue maintenance.
Principal Life Center, Dr Shara Zoe said “LIFE Centre is very appreciative of NGC and their donations, as well as their “sweat equity”, making it possible for our grounds to look as beautiful as it can for when students return in September. We are truly appreciative, and we thank you all so very much for this.”
The NGC said their volunteerism programme seeks to promote employee involvement in the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives as well as other social causes. They advised that the Company has a healthy volunteerism portfolio with employees giving freely over time for causes, institutions and events on a national level.
Lisa Burkett, Manager, Corporate Communications at NGC noted that NGC was thrilled to heed the call of LIFE Centre, “NGC has a long history of giving back. We have seen first-hand the spirit of giving that lives in NGC’s employees. These employees, a microcosm of our staff body who volunteered, are a special group. We are proud of our employees’ dedication to serving others by taking an active role in giving back through a variety of programmes available to them.”
