Nicki Minaj apologises for retirement tweet, says it was insensitive

Nicki Minaj is apologising to her fans about her retirement tweet.

The 'Megatron' singer on Thursday stunned fans when she posted that she would be retiring to focus on her family.

The tweet has since been deleted.

In a reponse to a fan, Minaj, real name Onika Maraj, apologised for the tweet saying it was abrupt and insensitive.

She said it should have been a discussion on her Queen Radio show between herself and her fans.

Minaj is said to be engaged to boyfriend Kenneth Petty and is planning to be wed soon.
