Nine-year-old bullied, bashed on head with street sign
Police are said to be investigating an incident in which a nine-year-old boy was hit on the head with a street sign in Point Fortin.
Due to the sensitive nature of the incident, the child's name has been withheld.
According to reports, around 3:30 pm on Monday in the vicinity of the Point Fortin RC School, the nine-year-old child was attacked by a group of persons known to him.
The child was allegedly was hit in the head with a street sign, causing an injury to his head.
The child was then taken to the Point Fortin District Hospital where he was treated and then transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital.
The nine-year-old boy was discharged on Tuesday.
The police were notified and officers from the Point Fortin Police Station are continuing inquiries.
Officials from the Ministry of Education have also been notified and they too are conducting their own investigations.
