However, Gerald Alleyne has been remanded into custody until a background tracing has been secured.
The matter is expected to be recalled tomorrow before Magistrate Anslem Leander.
Alleyne was held on Tuesday along Cipero Street, San Fernando.
At the time, police were responding to a report of a confrontation between a man and a woman.
When they attempted to intervene, it was alleged that Alleyne confronted the officers, used obscene language, resisted arrest, and threatened to kill one of the responding officers who attemped to detain him.
