News of a Pizza Hut employee testing positive for COVID-19 quickly went viral on social media. However, the incident occurred in a Pizza Hut location in Freeport in Grand Bahama in the Bahamas and not in Trinidad and Tobago.
The local Ministry of Health and Pizza Hut Trinidad and Tobago were forced to put out statements clarifying the situation.
“We would like to take this opportunity to assure the public that all of our staff members are healthy and safe and to remind you that all of our locations remain open in following with the necessary health and safety guidelines. All news regarding Pizza Hut TT will be via our official online platforms,” Pizza Hut wrote.
The Ministry of Health affirmed that the Pizza Hut Freeport post did not originate from them and encouraged that citizens restrict their information channels on COVID-19 to their official channels.
