No ID yet on woman found bound and gagged in Cunupia

Police are asking for the public’s assistance to identify the body of a woman which was found on Thursday in Cunupia.

The victim had been shot to death - her hands were bound and her mouth was gagged, police said.

According to police reports, around 2.15 pm Thursday officers received a call that the body had been observed some 20 feet off Ramcharitar Trace, Cunupia.

A team of officers from the Central Division, led by ASP Smith and Insp Singh, visited the scene.

The deceased was said to be a woman of fair complexion, about 5’5” tall, medium build, and was clad in a pink outfit. She had one identifying mark – namely a tattoo of a rosary around her left ankle.

The body was viewed by a district medical officer and removed from the scene.
