No water for North West Trinidad on Monday

Residents in North West Trinidad can expect an interruption in their pipe-borne water supply on Monday as emergency repairs are carried out on a leaking 30-inch diameter transmission main in St Joseph.

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) advised on Sunday that customers served by the Valsayn A Booster Station will experience an interruption in their pipe borne water supply on Monday, between 8 am and midnight.

WASA said the interruption was necessary to carry out the emergency works on the leaking main along the Eastern Main Road, St. Joseph, near Hutton Road.

Affected areas include: Along the Eastern Main Road from St. Joseph to Aranguez Main Road, San Juan including Champs Fleurs, Mt. Hope, Mt. Lambert and Petit Bourg; Lower and Upper Santa Cruz including Homestead Gardens, Pax Vale, Pipiol Road, Sam Boucaud Gardens and environs.

WASA reminded customers that it may take up to 12 hours for the scheduled pipe-borne water service to normalise to some areas following the completion of the repair works.

Motorists are also advised to proceed with caution when approaching the job site and obey the directions of police officers on duty.

For further information or assistance, customers are asked to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll-free at 800-4420/4426.
