The Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) is advising members of the public that the North Coast Road at the 11 kilometre mark is now opened to two lanes, after the successful installation of a Bailey Bridge at the site of a landslip which occurred earlier this week.
The Ministry said the erection of the Bailey Bridge was necessary to maintain access to and from Maracas Bay and environs in response to the landslip.
The works began on Friday at 6pm and was scheduled to be completed by 6pm on Sunday.
However, the Ministry advised that it was completed on Saturday.
It added that motorists will note new speed humps before and after the bridge.
Motorists are therefore advised to proceed with caution and follow all directional signs.
