NOTICE: Traffic disruption in San Fernando

Drivers are advised of a temporary traffic disruption along the Cross Crossing Interchange and Gulf City Intersection due to milling and paving works. 

According to a notice from the Ministry of Works and Transport, the following traffic restrictions will be in effect from

Sunday August 13, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm, to Sunday August 20, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm:

Gulf City Intersection:

Sections of the intersection will be closed off in five-to-10 minute intervals and traffic will be allowed to flow.

Cross Crossing Interchange:

Phase 1

Traffic from the Connector Road, wishing to access the interchange will be diverted left onto Piedmont Boulevard then onto SS Erin Road via Dabideen Avenue. Traffic from SS Erin will be diverted onto the South Trunk Road (SB) towards Gulf City intersection (Fig. 1).

Phase 2

North-bound traffic wishing to go east onto Connector Road can proceed onto Cipero Street, turn right onto Rienzi Kirton Highway, then left onto Balisier Avenue, left onto Chaconia Avenue, then onto South Trunk Road (SB) where they can take the first exit onto Connector Road (Fig. 3)

Phase 3

Traffic from the South Trunk Road (NB) wishing to access San Fernando can turn left at Rushworth Street. Alternatively they can turn right onto Chaconia Avenue (Pleasantville) then right onto Balisier Avenue, then right onto Rienzi Kirton Highway. 

Traffic wishing to access the interchange can take Balisier Avenue and turn right onto the South Trunk Road (SB) toward the interchange (Fig. 4).

Phase 4

Traffic from the South Trunk Road (SB) wishing to access Connector Road will be diverted onto the second exit where they will make the loop onto Connector Road.

Drivers are advised to:

- Proceed with extreme caution and observe all directional signs and barriers

- Follow instructions from police officers on site to facilitate the safe and orderly flow of traffic

- Be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the site. 

The Ministry said it regrets any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its cooperation.
