Notice: Works begin on North Coast Road

Package I of the Maracas Beach Facilities Improvement Project, along the North Coast Road, Maracas Bay is due to begin this month.

The Ministry of Works and Transport advised on Friday that the proposed works, which comprises the widening of the existing North Coast Road, the introduction of a roundabout, upgrade of the carpark and drainage improvement works within the limits of the Maracas Beach Facility will begin in May and conclude in September.

Works will be carried out Monday to Friday – 7am to 5pm and on Saturdays and Sundays – 7am to 12 noon. No works will take place on public holidays.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to proceed with caution and observe all directional and safety signs posted on site, comply with instructions from police officers on site to facilitate the safe flow of traffic and pedestrians within the work zone.

The Ministry also advised that persons be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the site, and drive at a reduced speed on approaching the work zone. 

Beachgoers are asked to refrain from parking in restricted areas.
