One dead, 2 critical after St James shooting

The death toll continues after one man was shot and killed by an attacker who appeared to be wearing tactical gear on Easter Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Kevin Bain of Dundonald Hill, St James, while two others remained in critical condition up to Tuesday.

According to police reports, around 10:00 pm Bain was with two other friends near a shot along Dundonald Hill, when a white vehicle pulled alongside the group.

A man dressed in what appeared to be police operational wear alighted from the car and began shooting at the group.

The assailant then returned to the car and drove away.

In the aftermath, Bain was found dead.

Two others, aged 36 and 32, were found bleeding from multiple gunshot injuries about their bodies.

A 39-year-old man broke his foot while running away from the scene of the shooting.

The three injured were all rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital.

The scene of the shooting was visited by a team of officers led by Inspector Hudson and Inspector Vincent.
