A shooting at a carwash in Mt Hope on Sunday has left one man dead, and another critical.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Jaleel Stevenson.

His friend, Jelani Husbands, 21, is said to still be warded in a critical condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex up to Monday morning.

LoopTT was told that both men were shot by masked gunmen at about 6:00 pm while seated in a car along Riverside Avenue, Mt Hope.

Stevenson, police said, was shot 14 times.

Husbands was shot twice.

The wounded man was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope where he was treated.

Stevenson, LoopTT was told, appeared to have been the target for the assailants.

However, police do not have a motive for the incident.

It is suspected it may have been over a  turf war, but the information has yet to be confirmed.
