One killed, three injured following shooting incident in Sangre Grande

One man is dead and three other people injured following a shooting incident in Sangre Grande on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Anton Blake, also known as "Darko" of Peter Circular Road, Wallerfield, Arima.

The other victims are: Suresh Ramsingh of Peter Circular, Wallerfield, Arima; Emmanuel Adams (no address provided); and 17-year-old Nadia Noriega of Eastern Main Road, Valencia.

According to reports, around 11:55 pm on Saturday, officers of the Eastern Division Task Force and Sangre Grande CID were on mobile patrol when they received a telephone call from an anonymous informant of a shooting incident at Pine Road, Sangre Grande.

They responded and on arrival they met Ramsingh and another person on the roadway.

Ramsingh was suffering from a gunshot wound to the knee and was taken to the Sangre Grande hospital by first responders.

The officers then proceeded to Tractor Road, off Toco Road, Sangre Grande where they found Blake lying on the ground.

They also observed a white Honda Accord motor vehicle parked near the body.

They made further checks and observed Adams in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, slumped over the steering wheel.

He was taken to the Sangre Grande Hospital. Sometime after Noriega emerged from some nearby bushes suffering from a gunshot wound to her hand.

She was also taken to the Sangre Grande hospital by police officers.

Homicide Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene.

Ramsingh was interviewed and he reported that around 11:55 pm on Saturday, he was in vehicle with the other victims when several explosions were heard.

He told police they ran out of the vehicle into some nearby bushes.
