One killed, two injured in Arima accident
One man is dead, while two others are nursing injuries, following an accident Monday morning in Arima.
While up to 9am information was still coming in, the incident reportedly took place around 7am on Monday near Demerara Road, Arima.
According to reports, David Charles, of Orchid Drive, Wallerfield, was driving his car along the westbound lane of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway when upon nearing Demerara Road, he lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle swerved on the roadway and crashed into a light pole on the median of the highway.
Charles was thrown from the front seat of his car, and he violently impacted with the same lightpole, sustaining fatal injuries to his head.
The Wallerfield man died at the scene.
Two of his passengers, identified as Kevin Ali and Raggata Garcia, were taken to the Arima District Health Facility and are currently being treated for their injuries.
PC White of the Pinto Road Police Station is continuing further inquiries.
