Outgoing Couva North MP Ramona Ramdial has expressed gratitude to her constituents for their support over the last ten years.
Former Senator Ravi Ratiram was selected by the United National Congress (UNC) to contest the Couth North seat in the upcoming general election.
In a statement on Sunday night, Ramdial she said she remained extremely accessible to her constituents over the years.
"To my wonderful constituents of Couva North, I want to thank you for all the love and support you have given to me as your MP from 2010-2020. This familial relationship grew from strength to strength and we endured the challenges of trying to make the constituency of Couva North a model one," Ramdial said.
The Couth North MP also expressed thanks to UNC Political Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar for giving her the opportunity to serve two terms as the MP for Couva North.
"I also want to thank her for supporting me when during our term in Government I got married and had my son and then subsequently had my daughter while in Opposition. Her support for me as a young, married woman with two kids in politics will not be forgotten."
Ramdial said would continue to support the UNC leader.
"I continue to pledge my support for the UNC and the Political Leader and to remind the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago that we have a General Election to win and we need to stay united with a clear focus on getting our beloved Nation back on the path of safety, security, progress and prosperity."
She added that during her tenure as a Government Minister and MP a number of projects were successfully completed.
