Over $.5M reported stolen from POS business

Port of Spain police is investigating a report in which over $500,000 was stolen from a business place on Tuesday morning. 

The incident was said to have taken place around 1 am on Tuesday.

According to reports, officers of the Chaguanas CID were on patrol in the town when they were flagged down by a security officer.

The man informed the lawmen that he had been abducted from a business place along Frederick Street, Port of Spain by armed assailants. 

The officers took the victim to the capital city to the area he said he had been abducted from and they observed that the business place had been broken into.

There appeared to be a hole in the roof, and a safe which was kept on the compound had been cut into.

Its contents, which police were told was over half a million dollars, was missing. 

The area was cordoned off and officers contacted their comrades at the Port of Spain Division who took over the inquiry.
