Painter in court for Debe casino robbery

A 23-year-old painter, who was arrested last Saturday after a robbery at a casino, was scheduled to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate on Thursday. 

Elisha Lingchung made his first appearance on Wednesday before Magistrate Indar Jagroo for the matter.

He is facing four counts of robbery which stem from the incident.

Lingchung was represented by attorney Ainsley Lucky.

PC Crawford was the complainant (charging officer) in this matter.

The State was represented by police prosecutor Ramdath Phillip.

Lingchung, the court was told, is a father of two, was a painter with no previous convictions.

The matter was adjourned today to give the State time to secure a background tracing so that submissions on bail can be heard.

It has been alleged that on Saturday, at the Instant Winners Members Club at SS Erin Road, Debe, Lingchung, together with others, armed with a firearm, and robbed four employees.
