Palo Seco man shot dead at home

A 38-year-old man was shot dead by three men outside his home in Palo Seco on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Winston Richards, of James Trace, Beach Camp Road, Palo Seco.

According to police reports, he was standing outside his home at 6 am tending to animals in his yard, when he was approached by three men.

One of the men, police were told, was wearing a mask.

The assailants approached the victim and shot him multiple times.

Richards, AKA “Fred” attempted to flee the scene.

He managed to run about 500 meters before collapsing in some bushes near his home.

The assailants then fled the scene on foot.

When people in the area checked on Richards they found him lying in a pool of blood.

His body bore six gunshot wounds.

The police were notified and officers from the Santa Flora police post and the Homicide Bureau, including Insp Mahtura, Insp Corrie, W/Cpl Ramjattan, and Cpl Deo, among others, visited the scene.
