Panorama 2019 to launch at bp Renegades panyard

Panorama 2019 will be officially launched on Saturday, January 19, at bp Renegades Pan Theatre, Charlotte Street, Port-of-Spain, from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Renegades is the reigning Panorama champs.

A release from Pan Trinbago said this year’s competition is in “Tribute to Our Cultural Icons” as the pan body recognises the recently-departed Ken “Professor” Philmore, Dr. Winston Bailey aka The Mighty Shadow and Winston Scarborough also known as D’Original Defosto Himself and their contribution to the national cultural landscape.

The formal segment of the event will feature Pan Trinbago President Beverley Ramsey-Moore, who will reveal plans for this year’s event and the highly topical North Park.

Later, patrons can fete with Renegades, Malick Folk Performers and DJ Klass is Class. Adding to the entertainment factor is guest performer D’Executive Band.

While there is no admission fee, contributions/donations will be accepted.

Patrons are invited to bring their coolers, however, there will be a fully stocked bar and food at the venue. This year, Panorama’s tag line is “Catching the Rhythm …. Feeling The Spirit”.

Invitations have been issued to Minister of Community Development, Culture and The Arts, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Carnival Commission, and the Mayor of Port-of-Spain.

Panorama prelims will begin on Tuesday, January 22 with the South/Central Region National Single Pan Preliminaries and culminate with those in the Northern Region on Tuesday, January, 29.
