Parts of North East Trinidad without water due to leaking main
Residents of some parts of North East Trinidad are currently experiencing disruptions to their water supply.
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) the service disruption is due to a further leak, which developed on the 42” diameter transmission main from the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant.
Repairs to the previous leak were completed on Thursday 7 December, 2017.
Emergency repair crews and equipment are currently being mobilized to carry out repairs that are expected to be completed by 6:00 am on Monday 11 December, 2017.
Areas affected include:
Sangre Grande (Town)
Vega De Oropouche
Toco Road Sangre Grande
Guaico/ Guaico Tamana
Malabar Phase 1,3 & 4
Carapo/ O’Meara Road
Signature Park/ Mausica Road
Golden Grove Road
Customers have been asked to manage their water use efficiently, as it may take between 12 to 24 hours for the service to normalise to some affected areas.
