Parts of North-East Trinidad without water due to leaking main

WASA is advising customers in parts of North-East Trinidad served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant, who are currently without a water supply, that this is due to a leak along the 21" diameter transmission main located at Railway Road, Guaico.

Emergency repair works are currently underway and are expected to be completed by 6 p.m.

Areas affected include: Sangre Grande, Turure, Vega de Oropouche, Guaico/Guaico Tamana, Oropouche Road, Fishing Pond, Sangre Chiquito/Caigual Manzanilla, O’Meara Industrial Estate, Cumuto Road, Coryal, Carmichael, Sangre Chiquito, Malabar Phase 1, 3& 4, Tumpuna Road, North & South, San Raphael, La Horquetta and Carapo.

WASA is asking customers to manage their water use efficiently, as it may take between 12 to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply schedules to normalize to some affected areas following the completion of these works.

For further information or assistance, customers can contact WASA's Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.

A limited truck-borne water service will be available with priority given to special homes, health care and educational institutions.
