Passer-by praised after rescuing Enterprise woman from attack

One citizen is being praised as a hero after stepping in to rescue one woman who was almost abducted on Wednesday night.

According to a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the 24-year-old woman, from Enterprise, was walking along Enterprise Street, Enterprise around 9:30 pm on Wednesday night when she was forced into a vehicle by a man known to her at gunpoint.

The woman told police the man beat her with the firearm while in the car.

However, luckily, she managed to escape by jumping out of the moving car but was chased on foot by her attacker.

Police said it was at this time that a passer-by intervened and rescued the woman from further harm.

The attacker then fled the scene.

The Good Samaritan then drove the woman to the Chaguanas Police Station to make a report and was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where she is currently warded.

The TTPS then commended the brave actions of the passer-by which resulted in the victim's rescue from further physical abuse.

Police said an arrest is imminent.
