Today, the funeral for Police Constable Allen Moseley will be held at the Trinity Cathedral in Port of Spain. Moseley was shot dead on June 27, while visiting a friend along the Old Morvant Road, Morvant.
Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith is expected to be among the senior officers from the police service, who will be in attendance.
Hours after his death, three men were killed by police in Morvant.
The funeral services for two of these victims, Noel Diamond and Israel Clinton, were held yesterday. Diamond’s service took place at Janel’s Funeral home along Lloyd Street, Sunshine Avenue, St Augustine; while Clinton’s funeral took place at the Simpson’s funeral home along the Eastern Main Road, Laventille.
There was a police presence at both events, however, there were no reports of confrontations.
The funeral for Joel Jacob took place last Friday at the St John Baptist RC Church in San Juan.
Jacob, Clinton, and Diamond were shot dead in Morvant on June 27 during a confrontation with police, hours after Moseley was killed.
While the two incidents have not been directly linked, the deaths of the three men did lead to protests actions throughout Trinidad between Sunday and Thursday.
