Penal man caught with drugs near school

Police arrested and charged one Penal man with drug trafficking after he was held near a school in Balmain Village, Couva on June 18.

According to updates from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the man was found near the Balmain Presbyterian School around 10:30 on June 18, 2018 while police were carrying out a road exercise in Balmain Village, Couva.

During the exercise which was conducted under the supervision of Snr Supt (Ag.) Balram, officers conducted a physical search of the suspect, where 14 greyish rocks of cocaine weighing 6.58 grams were found in his bag.

The suspect found to be in possession of the drug was within 500 meters of the Balmain Presbyterian Primary School.
