A 67-year-old man is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today after he was allegedly held with two firearms and a quantity of drugs.
The man was held during a police exercise Monday afternoon by officers of the Port of Spain CID and the Port of Spain Task Force.
According to police reports, around 2pm yesterday, acting on information received, the officers made their way to a home along St Francois Valley Road, where they executed a search warrant.
The premises was searched in the presence of the 67-year-old man and the officers allegedly found and seized a .38mm revolver, a 9mm pistol, 22 rounds of assorted ammunition, and a quantity of marijuana.
As a result of the finds, the pensioner was arrested.
He was taken into custody where he was questioned in relation to several gun-related crimes in the district.
