Petit Valley man, teen, charged in murder of PH taxi driver
A Petit Valley man, along with a teenage boy, has appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate, charged with the May 22 murder of a PH taxi driver from Diego Martin.
Algernon Gordon, 32, a landscaper, of Simeon Road, Petit Valley and a 16-year-old, were also charged with possession of firearm and ammunition, when they appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Maria Busby Earl-Caddle in the Port of Spain 8th Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
The matter was postponed to July 17, 2018.
Keon Earl Sylvester, 27, a PH taxi driver, of Covigne Road, Diego Martin, was found dead at Hummingbird Circular, Petit Valley on May 22, 2018.
He had been shot.
Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Suzette Martin and Insp. Arnold Lutchman, of Homicide Bureau of Investigations, (HBI) Region 1, while Alergnon and the teen were charged by PC Stephen Smith, also of HBI 1, on Tuesday.
The charges were laid following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on Monday.
