Petrotrin: Response efforts ongoing in Soldado Field leak
Petrotrin said it is currently responding to a leaking subsea clamp on Well S-694 located in the Soldado North Field which was observed on Monday.
The leak has been confined to the immediate vicinity of the facility and Petrotrin says it is being managed by response personnel on site.
In a release, Petrotrin said the Company’s Operations and Health, Safety and Environment personnel immediately responded and Petrotrin’s Incident Command System (ICS) was activated.
The company says that aerial, marine and land surveillance exercises conducted since the initial report of the oil leak have revealed “no observable impact on any of the shorelines along the southwestern peninsula.”
The Ministry of Energy & Energy Industries, the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) and the other regulatory authorities have been notified of the incident.
