PH Taxi Driver faces Magistrate for Laventille man's murder

A Beetham Gardens man has appeared before the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court charged with the murder of Cirn Ronaldo Joseph, which occurred on June 6.
46-year-old Sherwin Shepherd also known as ‘Charlie’, ‘Sheep’ and ‘Shepie’, a PH taxi driver of Phase 5, Beetham Gardens, appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Nanette Forde John at the 5th Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
The matter was postponed to August 7.
Joseph, a 31-year-old mechanic of Eastern Quarry, Laventille, was standing with a relative along the Eastern Main Road, Laventille, around 10:00 am when he was shot and killed during a drive-by.
Shepherd was arrested in Aranguez on July 6 and was charged with murder following advice received from the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Honore-Paul on July 10.
Investigations were supervised by acting ASP Suzette Martin of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 1 while Sgt Roger Reyes both of HBI Region 1, laid the charges.
