Pharmacy services now available at Couva Hospital

Patients can now collect their CDAP medication at the Pharmacy at the Couva Medical and Multi-Training Facility (CMMF).

The CDAP Pharmacy location is part of the first phase of the operationalisation of the CMMF, months ahead of the originally expected timeframe.

The Health Ministry has advised that Pharmacy Services at the facility have also been extended to include Patient Medication Therapy Management.

Patients will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one counselling with specialists who will explain the contents of CDAP prescriptions and discuss ways to ensure that patients comply with their medication regime. The walk-in service is available to all members of the public, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Positioned to be a ‘game changer’ in the public health arena, the CMMF will allow medical staff to operate in a modern facility with the latest technology, while patients will receive cutting-edge health care in a comfortable environment.

Patients must be referred through the public health system to access the diagnostic imaging services at the facility. Referred patients will receive the following diagnostic imaging services at the CMMF:

Computerised Tomography (CT) Imaging;

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI);

Ultra Sound;

Patients will receive a digital copy of their diagnostic imaging reports.

A Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) has been implemented to facilitate easy digital recording, retrieval and transfer of diagnostic imaging scans/records.

The North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) will be the initial operator for these services and CMMF will be managed by the CMMF Limited.
