The welcome party included the media, Minister of Culture and Sports John King, team supporters and sponsors who erupted into cheers when the victorious team passed through the glass doors.

Team Captain Jason Holder said the guys stuck together "like a family" during the difficult moments in the tournament and were able to pull through to secure the win in the finals held in Trinidad and Tobago.

Co-owner of the Barbados Tridents CPL team and brand, Kailash Pardasani told Loop the Tridents fought hard and proved all the critics wrong in the end.

Proud of the achievement, he said:

"We want to keep the brand alive year-round. We want to keep reminding people who the Tridents are and what we do. We went from zero to hero overnight and that is just who we are and what we do. The world now knows who these Bajan boys are."

Barbados Tridents defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors by 26 runs in the final held on Saturday, October 12, 2019.
