Photos of people posing in police vehicles cause stir, TTPS responds

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has responded to criticism by social media users, following the circulation of photos showing several people posing in police vehicles.

In a statement issued on Sunday night, the TTPS explained that the group was participating in a scavenger hunt activity at the Nelson Mandela Park in Port of Spain.

It noted that one of the challenges required participants to photograph themselves in a police vehicle and noted this portion of the exercise was strictly supervised by the police.

As it continues its Community Relations engagement, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) recently assisted members of the public who were participating in a Scavenger Hunt activity, at Nelson Mandela Park. One challenge required participants to photograph themselves in a Police vehicle.

The police strictly supervised this portion of the event and keys for the vehicles were never in the ignition during the activity. Members of the TTPS were happy to assist in yet another community activity, as it seeks to improve the relationship between the Police Service and members of the public.
