Places we love: Emperor Valley Zoo, Trinidad

The Emperor Valley Zoo, located in the heart of Trinidad's capital, Port-of-Spain, has been making serious efforts to enhance the experience of its visitors.

In recent years, the zoo has undergone an upgrade and has increased the variety of animals that one can now see.

The zoo is now home to two Giraffes, Melman and Mandela; Bengal tigers called Rajasi and Rani; a couple lionesses and, most recently, a pair of Zebras that are yet to be named.

These new additions join an array of birds, monkeys, snakes and other animals in the zoo.

The zoo is opened from Monday to Friday as well as weekends and public holidays.

Entrance is TT$15 for children under 12 and TT$30 for anyone over 13.
