Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has arrived in St Kitts and Nevis where he will attend the 30th Inter-sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Dr Rowley flew in on Monday and will join other CARICOM heads tonight for a meeting with Dr Mukhisa Kituyi, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. UNCTAD is the UN body focused on maximising trade and investment opportunities for developing countries.

The opening session of the CARICOM meeting will begin at 9 am on Tuesday.

The meeting will seek to, among other things, further advance action on the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) which was the focus of a Special Meeting of Heads in Trinidad and Tobago in December. Heads of Government will also examine recommendations from a Special Meeting of the CARICOM Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) on Transportation.
