PNM chooses Arima Mayor to run for D'Abadie/O'Meara
The People's National Movement has selected Arima Mayor Lisa Morris-Julian to run for the constituency of D'Abadie/O'Meara for the August 10 general elections.
This was announced by PNM PRO Laurel Lezama-Lee Sing on Tuesday night.
She wrote: "Congrats are in order to Her Worship Cllr Lisa Morris Julian on her selection as the PNM’s candidate for the constituency of D’Abadie/ O’Meara! And that’s a wrap folks! 41 PNM candidates!"
Morris-Julian was the final candidate to be selected by the ruling political party after Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley dismissed Ancel Antoine from running for the post for a second time.
The decision to remove Antoine was made on Sunday after he took to a platform to say: "America is a sh*thole country, alright? Sorry to say that. And we would have to make sure that we don’t allow Americans to come into Tri..You know all these Trinidadians who run into America and send back their barrels and so forth, make sure and tell them to stay out of Trinidad for the rest of the year, all your family and them”.
