PNM slams article: No 'bouff' or argument at Balisier House
The People’s National Movement (PNM) has slammed an article, in which it was stated that Finance Minister Colm Imbert gave Education Minister Anthony a ‘good bouff’ after he consented to speak with reporters prior to the PNM’s post General Council media briefing.
The article claimed that he was not pleased with Garcia intruding on his time and interrupted the interview, telling him if she wanted to speak with reporters he could do so outside.
However, in a statement on Sunday, PNM Public Relations Officer, Laurel Lezama-Lee Singh sought to clarify what exactly took place at Balisier House.
She said that despite being fully aware that the protocol is that only party issues are
discussed at press conferences held at Balisier House after the regular monthly PNM General Council meetings, members of the media chose instead to ask the Minister of Education to hold a press briefing on Ministry of Education matters.
Lezama-Lee Singh noted that the PNM agreed on the understanding that the questions would be brief and pertinent. She said after several questions were fielded, the Chairman of the PNM intervened to remind the media of the well-established practice that the focus of the post General Council press conference is on the PNM and not Government issues.
The PNM PRO added that there was no bouff or argument.
For the record, there was no “bouff” or argument at Balisier House yesterday between the Chairman of the PNM and the Minister of Education or the Public Relations Officer of the PNM, Mrs. Laurel Lezama-Lee Sing. The alleged quarrels between office holders of the party simply did not occur,” she stated.
