Former MP for D’Abadie/O’Meara, Ret. Brigadier Ancil Antoine
The People’s National Movement is opening nominations again in the constituency of D’Abadie/O’Meara following Ancil Antoine’s unceremonious removal from candidacy.
The party, so far, has two front runners for the seat; sitting Councillor for Tumpuna Brennon Patterson and sitting Mayor for Arima, Lisa Morris-Julian.
Screening for the area will be held at 5 pm on Tuesday at Queens Hall in Port of Spain.
Re-screening comes after Ret. Brigadier Ancil Antoine was removed as the constituency’s candidate. During a virtual platform meeting over the weekend, Antoine referred to the United States as a ‘sh*thole country’.
Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley made quick work of rescinding his candidacy saying that Antoine’s words were not reflective of the party’s policies.
